Shafana’s professional background is in Business Management and Leadership. She is a seasoned professional with over 20 years’ business management and leadership experience, 13 years of which has been in the Real Estate Industry having previously worked at Pam Golding Properties and LASER Property Services where she garnered a good working knowledge and experience in residential and commercial property investments within both the private and public sector over the years.
During her tenure at LASER Property Services she provided development and management oversight to a pension scheme property portfolio of over KSh.10B and was responsible for setting up the LAPTRUST Imara-iREIT portfolio property management. Shafana was also responsible for setting up a TPS (Tenant Purchase Model) and Utilities Management system for the bulk purchase and retail of Utilities (Reticulated Gas System, Water, Bulk Power distribution) for the scheme amongst several other milestones within the organisation.
She holds a Master of Arts degree in International Relations and a Bachelor of Science degree in International Business Administration, both from the United States International University (USIU) in Nairobi. She also holds a Diploma in Real Estate from International Career Institute, USA, and a Certificate in Real Estate Financial Modeling from Cornell University, UK, as well as several vocational certificates.
She is a Member of Marketing Society of Kenya (MSK), Kenya Professional Realtors Association (KPRA), Institute of Surveyors of Kenya (ISK), and a registered Real Estate Agent with the Estate Agents Registration Board (EARB). She is also an alumnus of the Centre for Corporate Governance and USIU-A and the board secretary for Women in Real Estate (WIRE) council.
Shafana has won several accolades and awards during her years of service.
